Normally people don't think too much before buying an air conditioner but one thing we really need to think before buying it is what actually our requirement is. In market two types of air conditioners are there. One is Unit air conditioner which is box type which is suitable for small houses or offices and other is Central cooling system which in which entire house is hooked to one system. Central Cooling system is used for to cool large spaces quickly. Central cooling system are very expensive as compared to Unit air conditioner. So, its always adviced to understand your requirement first and buy accordingly.

Positioning of air conditioner is also very important. It should be kept at such a place so that air cover the complete room which you want to keep cool. Also, measure the dimensions of window where you want to fit it because if you are going for window air conditioner you should not go and buy an air conditioner larger than your window.
